Truman Students Seek Stories About School's History
Truman teacher Jane Hake and her fourth-grade class have been busy posting artifacts and photos on a timeline that runs up and down the school hallway and tells the story of a building that has seen many changes over the years. Now, they are seeking help from the community to continue telling the school's stories with memories from former students, teachers, parents, staff and residents. Community members can fill out their memory on a card provided by the school, by calling Mrs. Hake at 729-2470 or e-mailing jhake@lindberghschools.ws. Anyone with memories from the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s or 2000s is welcome to contribute! The project is leading up to Truman Elementary School's transition to a middle school in Fall 2011, as part of Lindbergh's Prop R 2008 bond issue, which passed last November. The two-year history project will help cap off Truman's years as an elementary school and bring it full circle back to a middle school. |
